![]() #Cinescope barss movieSadly, much of the movie-scene periphery is lost when the movie is ported over to home television or streaming service. Consequently, many films today are created extra wide. After all, our eyes are set horizontally apart on our faces so it’s natural to look at a wider picture screen. This very wide-looking format is preferred by many movie lovers because the extra width matches our natural peripheral vision. Although the format varies from movie to movie and sometimes even within the movie itself, generally speaking the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has said that most theatrical showings since the 1960’s are in 1.85:1 aspect ratio.Īlthough technically not correct, the commonly used term “Cinemascope” refers to the very wide format of today’s modern cinema. Most movies, with many notable exceptions, are filmed in a wider aspect ratio than the regular television format mentioned above. It’s hard to compete with a surround sound system and large screen. Movie TheatersĪrguably the best place to watch a movie is in a dedicated movie theater. Here’s the bad news: If you’re watching a movie on 16:9, you’re probably not seeing everything that the filmmaker intended. This 16 by 9 format is so common now that virtually every broadcast station and even the Netflix streaming service is standardized on this size. So, for every 1.77 inches across the width, there will be 1 inch going from top to bottom. The aspect ratio for HD, meaning the the relationship between width and height of an image, is technically 1.77 to 1 but everyone says 16:9 (pronounced sixteen by nine). #Cinescope barss tvEven if your TV is 4K, aka UHD, it’s still considered “HD format”. Whether your TV is 10 years old or if it’s brand new it’s screen is going to be an “HD” format. The following is what you absolutely need to know and then a couple links to all the detailed information you could ever want. Format matters because you may want to know if the movie your going to watch is of a certain quality and if it is being cropped or if you’re seeing the whole picture. The ratio description looks like a jumble of numbers and the marketing terms like “Widescreen, IMAX, and Cinemascope” don’t really tell you much. There are dozens of different formats that make television and movie content more or less “wide”. 0 Comments The ridiculously simple guide to understanding cinema aspect ratios. ![]()

![]() #Gorogoa platforms downloadYou can download it for just $4.99, while the versions on Steam, Nintendo Switch and GOG retail for a steeper $14.99. The Apple App Store version is ideal for another reason: the price. I played the iPhone version of the game, and while it might be nicer to see the visuals play out on a larger screen, I thought the mobile experience was nearly perfect given the ease of the touch controls. #Gorogoa platforms fullWith deeply gratifying gameplay, beautiful animation and a soundtrack full of ambient, soothing sounds, Gorogoa will wholly capture your attention for at least a couple of hours. The story is told entirely in pictures, so even after finishing the game, the narrative can still feel shrouded in mystery. Chances are that you won 't completely piece the intricate story together during your first play through-particularly if you were caught up in the puzzle-solving. Even though I fumbled around a bit, it didn 't take me much longer than two hours to complete in its entirety.įortunately, the game is worth playing a second time through with all the knowledge you gained in the first run. If I have one complaint about the game, it 's that it 's quite short. While it 's easy to get wrapped up in the excitement of solving puzzles, this isn 't a game you 'll want to play too fast for fear that you 'll miss something magical. Everything in the game is hand-drawn and carefully crafted into one gorgeous and cohesive story. Each small solution was extremely satisfying to discover on my own, and this game is packed with them. #Gorogoa platforms trialThere were only a couple of occasions during the game when I felt completely stumped, but after putting the game down and coming back to it with a fresh pair of eyes, I was able to quickly find the right path each time.Īnd even when I was stuck, this wasn 't the type of game where I ever had to (or wanted to) systematically try every combination and find an answer through trial and error. Sometimes, you may even need to let logic take a back seat, as thinking too many steps ahead will cause you to waste time attempting to solve a puzzle that you 're not quite ready to complete. Still, the game is extremely intuitive, teaching you everything you need to know without a single line of direction or dialogue. One particularly tricky section sees the boy traversing across the images on a wall of photographs, asking players to use the other panels in tandem to skillfully guide him through each photo. Gorogoa never deviates from this simple formula, yet the puzzles grow increasingly complex and involved as the game progresses. If that 's tough to envision, check out the game 's trailer to see it in action: Sometimes the scenes in multiple panels will fit together like a jigsaw puzzle to form one big, interconnected image, and other times you 'll have to relayer the panels in innovative ways to progress. What looked like a gloomy indoor scene can take you to another room with a window, then out the window into the open world where anything can happen.Īt times, dragging one panel into another area on the screen will reveal that the image was actually two layered pictures, expanding your puzzle-solving space to two-and eventually three and four-panels. Sometimes you 'll be able to navigate left, right, up or down, and other times you 'll be able to zoom in or out. The only controls are clicking, as well as dragging and dropping, to solve elegant puzzles that clear the way for our hero.Īt first, it may not seem like there 's much to do within a single panel, but it quickly becomes clear that this isn 't the case. Instead, the entire story takes place within a set of four panels inside of a square. This isn 't the kind of puzzle game where you rotate and match colored blocks or run and jump to clear obstacles. From this moment, he becomes obsessed with seeing it again, embarking on a journey to find the five orbs he believes will summon the beast.īut his path is unusual, to say the least. The game begins when a boy spies a colorful, mysterious monster outside his window. After almost a year of anticipation, I received a review copy so I could play the game on iOS and finally see if Gorogoa was worthy of the hype. The game first piqued my interest when I saw a trailer for it back in January. While it technically is that, its parts add up to something so much more. On the surface, Gorogoa looks like a beautifully simple puzzle game. ![]() ![]() ![]() If you don't want it to start at the current HEAD revision, you also need to provide a commit hash - the old project revision we want to restore. However, providing the -b parameter, you can also let it create a new branch (named "old-project-state" in this example). Normally, the checkout command is used to just switch branches. Since "branches" are so cheap and easy in Git, we can easily create a new branch which starts at that old revision: $ git checkout -b old-project-state 0ad5a7a6 However, there is also a "safer" way in case you'd prefer leaving your current HEAD branch untouched. Select Start a new merge request to start a new merge request with the new revert. If you're sure that this is what you want, everything is fine. In Revert in branch, select the branch to revert your changes into. And in case you made a mistake: simply hit CMD+Z to undo the reset and restore the removed commits! Restoring a Revision in a New Local BranchĪs said, using the reset command on your HEAD branch is a quite drastic action: it will remove any commits (on this branch) that came after the specified revision. In case you are using the Tower Git client, you can use the reset command right from a commit's contextual menu. You'll be left with a couple of changes in your working copy and can then decide what to do with them. If you use it instead of -hard, Git will keep all the changes in those "undone" commits as local modifications: $ git reset -soft 0ad5a7a6 Also, if youve never pushed great-train-idea (the branch you mistakenly committed to), you can use git log to figure out which commit to revert to instead of. The reset command comes with a couple of options, one of the more interesting ones being the "-soft" flag. All commits that came after this version are effectively undone your project is exactly as it was at that point in time. This will rewind your HEAD branch to the specified version. The fastest way to restore an old version is to use the "reset" command: $ git reset -hard 0ad5a7a6 First we need fetch origin, which is slightly different from pull, as it will not try to merge. ![]() ![]() REVERT TO MASTER GIT FOR FREEDownload Now for Free Returning to an Old Revision ![]() ![]() Super Stardust Delta & DLC Bundle (£7.99/€9.99).The entire list of launch content available right now is here: When Vita launches at midnight tonight its entire launch line-up of games will be available for digital download.Ī range of download-only titles will also be ready, such as pool sim Hustle Kings, MotorStorm RC and 2D strategy title A-Men. You do not get experience for this, you do not venture to other worlds or play new levels. That is not the case! No! Instead The Pit of Trials is just an arena game mode that focuses on defeating waves of enemies for the soul purpose of getting items. The Pit of Trials was an add-on for the PlayStation Vita, so with that you would think holy shit new content, something amazing. ![]() Lastly I just want to explain the pit of trials. I spent an hour having my brother make online games and receiving the disconnected screen over and over. Each attempt was returned with some touch screen interaction that says "Disconnected from the room." YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY! This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't so god damn consistent in fucking you. Finally I said fuck it clearly I don't need that room, fuck that room and proceeded to select multiple other rooms available. Jesus Christ I didn't know my audacity in doing so because for the next fifteen minutes I sat there trying to connect to that room multiple times. Many times I've played multi-player just trying to get into a room for fun. Hey me too, except you'll be lucky if you can. Fine it's a terribly mediocre Diablo clone with mundane class growth, poor class balance, rudimentary stat distribution, and game play that borders on lobotomizing. You are just playing through different sections of the story! Fine. YOU ARE NOT PLAYING ANYTHING DIFFERENT IN MULTI-PLAYER. Since you liked playing through the story with each class the multi-player is just you selecting different rooms hosted by different people at different points in the story. Maybe it's not stellar, but I'm sure its online play is great. You're then supposed to use your abilities on the enemies and you would expect it to be varied with the interaction, but it quickly turns into USE ABILITY, USE ABILITY, OUT OF ENERGY, USE POTION, USE ABILITY, USE ABILITY. You have skills that clearly put you in the role of choosing one primary attack skill and buffing up passive skills that add to your character. You say it looks like a Diablo clone and you're half right. More so, you have to beat the game two more times with the other classes, JUST for 3 other trophies! That means you play through this game 4 times total, experiencing its tripe story and uninteresting game play. That would be awesome if it wasn't THE EXACT same game and the monsters just have more hit points. One trophy is beating the game on hero and legend difficulties. To platinum this game you have to beat it 6 ways from Sunday. (You'll know what I mean if you have played the game) The WORST part of this game, and I mean absolute worst part about this game is the trophies! My god. ![]() It's predictable, even in the obvious attempt for the dramatic parts they had. ![]() I know there's a Fairy Realm, the King was killed because he played with magic and got burned, and that it ends as any story like this would. So much so that I still don't know what the whole story is about, or the sub quests. The story is uninteresting and adds little to the experience. It even goes as far to say that in the loading screen "each class has a specific stat: the warriors being strength, the rogue's being dexterity, and the mage's being energy." I mean, that's great and all, but why the hell would a game designer allow for stat distribution if the whole point of you getting stats is to just dump them into some pre-obligated stat based on your class. The skills are ok, but there's nothing that makes them outstanding, and the leveling up that is in the game consists of dumping points into the abilities you have and then focusing all the stat points you get on pretty much one pre-determined stat. This game scales terribly for different classes, to the point where it feels like the mage shouldn't even bother beating the game on Legend and that the rogue is the most overpowered class. I just platinumed this game and it was horrible, absolutely horrible. I'm just going to leave this here: it's a previous response I made regarding this game. ![]() ![]() ![]() Together with their fellow rangers, the tale of the ten young people and their opposing groups is woven. When evaluating patients with patellofemoral instability, it is important to recognize patella alta as a potential aggravating factor. When the femoral MPFL tunnel is malpositioned anteriorly or distally on the femur, the maximum patellofemoral contact pressures increase with severity of patella alta. Patella alta after MPFL reconstruction results in decreased lateral restraining forces and patellofemoral contact area and increased maximum patellofemoral contact pressures. Changing femoral insertion sites had a variable effect on patellofemoral contact pressures however, distal and anterior femoral tunnel malpositioning in the setting of patella alta resulted in grossly elevated maximum patellofemoral contact pressures as compared to other scenarios. Additionally, patella alta resulted in decreased lateral restraining forces in the native knee scenario as well as following MPFL reconstruction.
